Self Study vs Group Study: Which is More Suitable for You?

Students’ endeavor to discover and retain knowledge may vary depending on their preferred style. Some like to study together with their friends or group study, while others prefer to study alone or self study.

There are also students who are unsure if it’s more time efficient to study with a group of classmates or on their own. Self study and group study have their own advantages and benefits.

SELF STUDY

Students who choose to study alone can focus entirely on the materials. You have the freedom to choose the time and place to study. Self study allows students to set and control their own learning pace.

How long you study, what the materials are, when and where to study, you have absolute control over everything in your study session. This flexibility can enhance your discipline and responsibility. Independent study also encourages students to think critically, analyzing various information, and in-depth exploration of the topics.

GROUP STUDY

Students who choose to study together can strengthen their topic comprehension by explaining to others or vice versa. It allows students to deepen their understanding by exposing themselves to different ideas and perspectives. Immediate feedback can help students to clear doubts and solidify their understanding.

Unlike self study, group study can serve as a platform for developing social skills, such as communication, teamwork, negotiation, and leadership. Group study also provides students with emotional support, improving their motivation and accountability.

In conclusion, both self study and group study offer different advantages and benefits, making them suitable for different learning preferences and situations.

Self study provides independence, flexibility, and the ability to control their own learning pace, which can be beneficial for disciplined and focused learners.

In contrast, group study encourages collaboration, idea exchange, social interaction, and mutual support, which can enhance understanding and motivation.

Finding the appropriate mix between studying in a group and studying on your own is often the most effective technique for achieving your learning goals

One day, he decided to visit his brother, The God of Sky and Thunder, and went to the outside of the underworld. The lonely god instantly fell in love with her and then asked his brother for permission to take her as his wife. The God of Sky and Thunder was neither in support nor against it.   However, he reminded the ruler of the underworld to be careful and cautious, because her mother, The Goddess of Harvest and Agriculture, would never agree to the idea of her daughter being taken awa...
